Backed into a corner

We are not judged by how we perform when the sun is shining, the bank

account is full, and the family is happy.

In life, in businesses, in sports, in relationships, we are judged by how we react

and how we perform when we are backed into a corner.

What we do during moments when everyone else would assume we would give

up…that is what truly takes you from being a B+ worker to a A+ plus elite

level performer.

Often times, these stories are the ones that are not told, we go off quietly

into the night.

We give in to the circumstances and break off the relationship that seemed

too damaging to give it a chance for resurrection, we declare bankruptcy when

our financial situations seem too hard to overcome, we surrender and throw in

the towel for the rest of the baseball season when we are down 10.5 games

in late August in a baseball playoff race and when we are down 2 runs and

down to our last pitch multiple times in a game that clearly the other team

had the confidence to beat us.

WAIT!

Not always….

Sometimes in life we fight through and repair those businesses thought to be

sunk, those relationships in life that seemed too bloodied to repair, and the St

Louis Cardinals over the last 60 days have taught us once again

NEVER GIVE UP and when you are backed into a corner don’t cower and

surrender but stand back up and fight back with everything you have.

That is how you will be remembered in life…it shows your toughness…your

resiliency…and most importanly your drive and passion for what you

believe in.

The St Louis Cardinals are a good baseball team this year but talent top to

bottom they are no better than 8th or so in all of baseball.

They were 10 and a half games out of the playoff races with one month to go

and staged one of the largest comebacks and turnarounds in MLB history to

just make the playoffs.

The Cardinals went to the Phillies house in a deciding game 5 series that they

were supposed to lose and beat the favored Phillies in their own house.

Now they have fought back to force a Game 7 after what will go down in history

if they win as one of the greatest baseball stories of ALL TIME!

Twice the Cardinals this morning or last night depending on your time zone

were down two runs and down to their last out and twice they forced the

game into another inning.

When finally they hit a walk off home run to force one final game that may lead

them to another World Series Title tonight.

They were backed into a corner in late August and have been there since

then…they are very close to knocking everyone over who backed them into that

corner and left them for dead very sorry that they didn’t finish them off

when they had the opportunity.

Challenge yourself, overcome hard to topple obstacles, and be judged on how

you react in critical moments of life.  That is how we truly become ELITE in

all divisions of life.

Thanks for reading everyone, enjoy game 7 if you choose to watch tonight!

(I won’t lie I don’t really even watch baseball other than the Reds but have

randomly stumbled on this Cardinals team a few different times during this

magical run.)
