Product Placement

Blake Griffin is awesome first off!

The rookie for the Clippers has been doing it all this year and last night he won

the slam dunk contest at NBA All Star Weekend.

Above is a photo of him jumping over a car to win the contest.

This photo might not even do it justice, I suggest the Youtube option as well.

My point of this is product placement!

KIA has been the official auto dealer of the NBA for years now and there has to

be nothing finer than on National TV in front of a huge audience, not to mention

22,000 people in attendance, that one of the finest young stars in the game

decides to use your product as his exclamation point for what could go down as

one of the greatest rookie seasons the NBA has ever seen!

Even better was this was Blake’s decision and not some cheesy promo of KIA

wheeling their car out to center court.

It was improv by Blake (though probably planned if he made it to the finals to

have a car ready) and it gave KIA the ability to brand itself at the forefront

of google photos, NBA highlight videos, and youtube/blog postings (note here!)

for the coming months and probably years.

Take note sports sponsorship sellers, I have a feeling some of your bigggest

clients are going to be asking for a lot more now that KIA just got the “added

value” that most clients will never sniff nor even dream of ever getting!

Be smart and think up how you can “accidentally” pull a Blake Griffin!

Happy Sunday have a great day everyone!
