A quick fun story that I experienced last night that relates to @garyvee ‘s
new book that I am reading right now, called the Thank You Economy.
I got home last night after an awesome night with friends at the Black Joe
Lewis and the Honeybears concert when I decided to order some late night PIE!
It was after midnight and I couldn’t eat meat on Friday so I was fixing for some
kind of substance after fish and veggies all day.
Anyways I ordered from the Donatos in my neighborhood and I got the GM of
the store taking my order.
He proceeded to speak to me for well over five minutes about how much he
appreciated my business, asked me about my favorite toppings and food there,
and how hard he was working to make sure Donatos got back to having the
best service in town and the freshest toppings.
He went into a whole story about their merger with McDonald’s and trying
to recover from that from a pricing and customer care standpoint.
He went into more detail about a few other concepts and bounced off an idea
with me even. After about six minutes (he promised he had already put my
order in by the way!) he thanked me again for my business and let me on my
way.
The pizza showed up 30 minutes later and 80% of it is still in the fridge but
his passion and energy for his brand, which in this case was Donatos, was
through the roof and much appreciated, in fact startling even to me!
That guy cared!!!!!!
And he wants to make his customers number one and that means something
to me and it should mean something to you as well.
So in conclusion no it’s not as good as Larosa’s pizza (sorry!) but they made
an already good customer take the time to write about them on the internet
and I know I will spread good vibes about that location for a long time to come
and will continue to eat there…perhaps even more.
Have passion and show it…it’s not stupid…it’s refreshing honest and fun to
act that way every day!
Saturday night woo woo…I’m taking Butler over VCU and UCONN over UK tonight.
